I have been on my fathers insurance since I was a kid without issue. He has insurance in the state of Georgia and that's what i had as well. A few years ago I had a falling out with him and relocated to Florida where i currently live and we haven't been in contact since due to personal matters.

I have still had insurance under his provider until I attempted to visit a psychologist for my mental health and they informed me my policy had been terminated September 1st. I know when you turn 26 you lose coverage under your parents policy, so I'm assuming my father kicked me off. Do I have any options here? I am currently employed full-time and my employer doesn't offer health benefits. I was breifly reading about COBRA and how that is used to extend coverage for people unemployed, does COBRA have anything regarding a young adult that's been kicked off their parents insurance abruptly?

I am new to living on my own and am 100% financially responsible for myself now, I don't live with my parents or get any help.

I'm new to this and I don't know what to do, If I have to go to the hospital I'm fucked. I can't get mental health treatment and I haven't some serious issues I need to deal with. I'm not doing good. I feel like I'm about to crack under all this pressure. I'm not looking for sympathy or a pity party, just a little guidance as to what I can possibly do. I know I'm an adult now and nobody owes me anything I just didn't anticipate this and am trying to figure life out as I go.

I currently make $12/hr and work 40 hour work weeks so after taxes I'm pulling home roughly $400 a week. My girlfriend works 25 hours a week for right around $8.50/hr and makes about $375 every 2 weeks.

My rent is $1350 a month, car insurance is $150 a month, gas is $35 a week, electric is about $75 a month.

All this is overwhelming. besides the health insurance factor I don't even know how to go about saving money and I'm terrified about something happening to my car because I won't have the money to fix it and will have to quit my job.

I cross posted this from r/legaladvice and this post is all over the place I know, I'm just scrambling to get my shit together right now.
