Newbie investor here! 20 year old college student who has been trading for about 4 months. Anyway, I’ve been learning about index funds in my classes. In my statistics class, we ananlyzed a study that showed that only about 20% of brokers beat the market each year. This seems really low, so why wouldn’t people just invest their whole portfolio in an index fund? What percentage of a portfolio should hold an index fund? I would appreciate any advice or knowledge :)
