I'm 27 years old. I bought a house last December and a new (used) car in May. I make about $55K per year now with a recent promotion and another one on the horizon (potentially Jan/Feb) that should put me closer to $65k+. My girlfriend is 26 years old, finishing her last year of school working part time as a bartender and makes decent cash especially for part time. I have a mortgage that is roughly $1000/month and total bills right now that are roughly $3000/month. I have about $18K in student loan debt myself but no degree to show for it. I am however finishing real estate school within the month to potentially move into that market however I plan on staying stable in my job now until I know I can make the money in real estate. All of my debt (house included) comes to about $190K. I have about $11K in an IRA, $7K in my 401K at work. I guess what I am looking for is advice on how to plan, what to plan for, what things to do to prepare for the financial side of having a baby. I'm as excited as anyone would be in this situation because it certainly could be worse in many ways. I also love the girl very much. So fro. Here I need numbers and a plan because I am completely in the dark on baby stuff. Thanks ahead of time!
