I could use some advice! We just bought our first home, a 1950’s rambler with a finished basement in Minnesota. We have a baby who is seconds away from learning to walk.Right now our TV sits on a little wooden cabinet maybe two feet high. We’d like to walk mount it to keep the kid from pulling it down onto himself. But it’s an older flatscreen, so it doesn’t have wall-mounting fittings. It just has its stand, no holes or fittings for anything else.Since we just bought the home, our budget is mostly drained from small fixes and a light kitchen remodel. So what would be best, considering both cost and safety for baby: build a shelf into the wall that would hold the TV on its stand, or just buy a newer TV and do a traditional walk mounting? The wall in question is an interior wall with studs and drywall, not the cinder-brick exterior walls.Thank you all so much! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2yKY8nG
