The days of laughing at Americans being obese seem to be diminishing every year. This "epidemic" is now spreading across the globe, becoming an issue in Europe, South America, and even Africa (http://ift.tt/2i3JGB9). Studies are showing, "that worldwide, the number of young people ages 5-19 who are obese has increased ten-fold from 1975 to 2016." (http://ift.tt/2gAnV8j). Perusing the news, it seems that this rate doesn't seem to be slowing down and will becoming an increasing problem both physically and economically http://ift.tt/2xvmptQ).
Markets such as the fast food industry, nutritional health stores, or pharmaceutical companies seem to be the logical play when it comes to obesity.
With this in mind, what do you all believe in the future of bariatric surgery (non-invasive treatments) and companies like Apollo Endosurgery $APEN. Current $APEN offers there products in 80 countries which establishes a reasonable global infrastructure. However, it seems that the company financials aren’t the best but could their be potential? Recently, there seems to be somewhat positive news around bariatric surgery, however, has this trend already passed it’s prime? http://ift.tt/2y1lyTo
