The thought of another winter freezing my nuts off every morning makes me a bit depressed. I have been looking at three jackets specifically. I prefer the look of the Mountain Equipment jacket, which is also the cheapest of the three. But would it be adequate to wear with a t-shirt on a cold, windy Chicago morning?

My other option is this one: http://ift.tt/2ybm1ok

This RAB jacket has an 850 fill (compared to 675 in the first one). This one surely must be warm enough.

And this one, which seems to have a similar filling to the RAB. I am not sure whether it is windproof and water proof though (both would be crucial I think):

If you have other tips of similar jackets it would be appreciated as well. Not looking to purchase a Canada Goose as I already have a similar styled jacket (but not as warm), and I don't wanna spend more than $400-500.
