I just mounted a pull up bar to a wood plank with lag screws. I know the lag screws are strong enough to withstand the weight of the the bar and myself, but I’m worried that I didn’t put enough screws into the wood plank in between the pull up bar and the wall. The plank is mounted with four 3.5 inch wood screws on the studs. The lag screws go into the wood plank and through some of the dry wall but do not reach the studs in the wall. Right now it seems pretty sturdy but only after I finished I realized perhaps I should’ve put more wood screws into the plank before I mounted the pull up bar onto it.
