Hi guys, first time posting in this sub. I painted two of my bedside tables this weekend, and one came out absolutely great. The other...not so much.It all started with a hair that got trapped in the polycrylic. Of course, I couldn't resist picking it out, which then of course made a good portion of the poly peel up! That's ok, thought I, I'll just sand it smooth and put another coat on. Nope - the difference was obvious and I'm sure 99% of you pro DIYers are laughing right now. So, that didn't work. I decided I would start over, and (after 24 hrs) painted another 3 coats of chalk paint over the poly after sanding quite a bit. AHA! Thought I, at least I will get a nice finish and I'll be done.No.The poly bubbled. But not like, from the brush didn't pop as it was self leveling bubbles. LIke under 3 coats of poly bubbles, can't sand down enough to make it level and smooth for a good top coat. I realize now, that maybe I messed up by painting over the first poly coat so soon? What should I do now? Let it dry for a week and then recoat with chalk paint and brush poly on again? I'm not having problems with bubbles on the brush btw, just forming AFTER I've placed the poly. Like really, I sanded bubbles down, put the poly over it in a nice thin coat, everything looks great. Come back 5 minutes later and BAM giant bubbles - exactly where they were before. After it dries I can press down and it'll stick, so this makes me think it's through several layers?TIA for any advice for a noob DIYer :D via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2gOkxdr
