I believe I still have the original HVAC humidifier that was installed when my house was built (1989), an Aprilaire 560. It just has a simple manual, dial-type humidistat attached to it (closest I can find based on memory is the Aprilaire 4655).I've been dealing with dryness or condensation since we moved in several years ago, and have wanted to update the humidifier with some automatic control. I've come to the Aprilaire 60 automatic humidistat, which looks like it's compatible with my 560, but am wondering if it's just a good time to replace the whole unit as well.Looks like the Aprilaire 600 has the same mounting dimensions as my 560 (9.75" W, 12.5" H), so it should be more-or-less a drop in replacement, is that right?http://ift.tt/2xUKFuj I'm not sure which way to go... Replace just the humidistat for $90 or replace the whole setup for ~$195. I'm also not sure if the 600 humidifier comes with the digital humidistat, or if I'd end up purchasing it separately anyway.Thoughts? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2grdCmw
