I bought this house a year ago and there is a corner of the living room that has cracked along the interior corner. Image here: http://ift.tt/2ykzECu goes from the ceiling to the floor. It does not affect the ceiling. It appears they did a not so good job trying to repair that area before.I have attempted to do some research and find plenty of videos and information for untextured drywall, but nothing for this situation that is already textured and painted since this house is from the 80s. Here are two videos I found that seem somewhat helpful but don't seem to cover everything I need: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByyfCtVBIX0&index=2&list=PLHrx1LVyWO_U8S-20Lm4-WPcUoAaYEe8O&t=1shttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k43yfYu5UDs&list=PLHrx1LVyWO_U8S-20Lm4-WPcUoAaYEe8O&index=3I have never done anything like this before, but we are wanting to paint. Previous quotes for painting our house were really expensive so I am trying to consider what I can do on my own. I can paint this room on my own without painters if I can figure out how to fix this corner. My question is, how do I repair this and ensure I can make the texture blend in? Would I need to sand that area first before doing steps similar to the first youtube video I linked, and then use the knockdown texture sponge after I do the tape repair to blend the texture in? I am afraid of it sticking out and being obvious. Since I am insanely inexperienced, would this be something I should just give up on and get a professional? I am pretty good at artistic things and have a good 'eye', so I feel like this is something I may be capable of, if only I am taught how. Thanks for any advice or direction. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2g6coxa
