My father (63yo) died recently and was unexpected. My mother is 58. He retired two years ago.
He has left a considerable amount of money for her and there is No debt. The man was an incredible human being.
My mother has her own health issues. I dont want her to work. I think she should be okay financially to remain independent.
I'm just not very good with this stuff. I have spent the majority of my life studying medicine (currently in residency). Has reddit created a to-do list for a surviving spouse. Ive seen some stuff on the internet but i always enjoy the write-ups here. Also I want to learn how to do this so I can teach my mother. I think it would be good for her to learn how to manage her finances.
Thank you
