I'm moving to LA for work for a few months and I'm trying to figure out the best commuting option. I only have to commute 4 miles each way and will not be using the car much outside of that. I will be carrying significant amounts of cash so I'm weary of biking.
Renting a car for 75 days looks like it will cost somewhere in the ballpark of $1300
I could buy a cheap car for the same price or a little cheaper and try to sell it before I fly back but I know literally nothing about cars and I don't want to buy something and get ripped off. Having to sell it back before my flight home is a slight problem but not too bad since I can just do Uber if I have to sell it early.
Uber looks like it would cost $22 per day and I will need to commute just about every day so that's about the same as the rental car.
