We are getting our adulting on and have started working with a financial planner, paying down debt, boosting our emergency funds, formalizing wills....you know all that grown up stuff. Our financial planning team has given us a sales pitch for managing our roths and other retirement investments not already managed by our employer. Currently we have our roths with Schwab and they are doing about a 7% return a year. Our investment team is proposing we turn them over to be managed which will incure a 1.2% annual fee a year which is deducted quarterly from the portfolio over the course of the year. Management team portfolio has been performing at a 15% return over the course of our roths. We are both 35 so we are invested aggressively. Should we do it? Thoughts, advice?
