So after an expensive divorce, and some over spending trying to re-establish some sense of "home" for myself and my kids... and then losing my job... I've managed to get in over my head. I admit I've made mistakes with my budget... no excuses... but now I need to find my way out.

I have about $30,000 in credit card debt, and since I was without a job for about 2 months and missed some payments, my credit score has taken a dip to about 580. Bad times.

My ex-wife got the house, so I've got no equitable assets at the moment to get banks to want to give me a consolidation loan. Because the minimum payments across my credit cards are now taking more than I make every month... I feel like I need to find some debt management planning, and I'm getting a ton of solicitation in the mail for it... but I feel like this stuff is all just setting up to screw me even more.

How to I find a reputable debt management planning service that isn't a con or out to ruin me even more?
