Hi everyone - I'm looking around for a new bag for work. Currently own the "Rothco Canvas Map Case Shoulder Bag" (http://ift.tt/2xlTIQA), which works brilliantly but isn't a BIFL-type item and is showing some wear after a few years. I do like the crossbody style of this bag, however, and am looking for something along the same lines (but BIFLier this time).
Likes
- Square-ish shape
- Crossbody style
- Water bottle storage (internal or external)
- Canvas or leather or synthetic or whatever material, but with a slightly professional or business vibe
- Doesn't need to be large enough to carry a laptop (so under 15" width is fine)
- Secondary, smaller pockets for smaller items
Dislikes
- Velcro fasteners
- Too much of a modern camping/hiking style (don't want to look like I'm climbing Everest when I'm on the train to work every morning)
- Too much of a "bike delivery" messenger bag look (although some of the bags I like could be called 'messenger bags', so this is a bit confusing)
- Large size - I want something slightly larger than my current bag (9" x 11" x 4.5") but not too bulky. Something I can take to the bar for drinks after work and stash under the table.
I've looked in past 'bags' threads on this sub and looked at a LOT of brands so far. Here are some bags I've liked so far:
Before I make a move on anything, I figured I'd ask here if anyone could recommend any other bags or brands that might fit. Price range is in the $100ish dollar range. Thanks!
