I'd like to build a double desk with storage above for myself and my fiancee.TLDR; How strong is aluminium square tube 25mm * 25mm * 1.6mm thick.3m wooden worktop. 8 legs. One 1m wide shelf underneath in the middle. 6 of the legs (excludes the middle front two) continue through the worktop to create a shelfspace at 2m high. Its a 2m high desk with a worktop in the middle and a large shelf at the top. :-)I first bought the worktop. I bought 7 lengths of 3m * 33.7mm steel tube & lots of key clamps. http://ift.tt/2zzVK0w 1, its crazy heavy. The large living room is below and I think it could be superbad for my house.New plan! I'm planning on getting 25mm * 25mm aluminum square tube * 1.6mm thick. http://ift.tt/2h6Cpgm (the thicker aluminium doesnt connect with the connectors)and use nylon / plastic joints http://ift.tt/2zzVL4A it be strong enough for a heavy duty desk and stable enough for a 2m high shelf?Big thanks in advance! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2yG3PUv
