Me and my husband decided that for our first home we just want a simple double wide trailer in hopefully a safe place we were told about until we can save for something better down the line. We need to move asap (hopefully within another year) because the living situation we are currently in is not good at all. We figured we'd save $40,000. So far we have $24,000. I know the price i came up with sounds off but this is because we'd have to leave behind a lot of our furniture (we live with a parent and she is claiming everything including tv, dining table, sofas etc is hers even though we bought them years ago. We dont want to fight over them and leave her without furniture so she can complain to people so she can have them all). This is our list of things we have to get: Down payment: $20,000. Closing costs: $4,000. Furniture: $9000, Moving truck: $500, New used car + insurance: $7000.

Does all this sound ok? We are going to be getting tax returns this year (which are usually $12,000 minimum for two children household) plus i am currently adding about $500 every paycheck into our savings. I'll take any advice we can get just please be nice. Thank you.
