Just curious of your opinions. I ask because until I get quite a bit more income flow, there is no way I could afford another car.

I have a 2008 Toyota Yaris, with almost 112,000 miles. I've had it for 6 and a half years, obviously paid off. No major issues, only some things here and there but I put a lot of miles on it.

I recently moved very close to work (7-8 miles away) and I keep up with oil changes. I'd drive this to over 200,000 miles if it lasts.

A few years ago I dropped the full coverage insurance once I moved out on my own, and now I have only basic insurance (so, if I total my car, I'm getting nothin). I did it obviously for financial reasons as I'm pretty paycheck to paycheck at the moment. And I've been lucky and careful these past few years. But is this smart?
