Personal

I am 21 years old. I went to college for a short time until I couldn't afford to due to changes in financial aid. After I left I switched part-time jobs a couple times, living paycheck to paycheck. I got job at a TV station later on. I started out part-time and then a year later moved to full-time. I am still currently at this job. I plan to stay here until after the the holidays to use the PTO time I have saved for the past 2 years. Then I will look for better opportunities.

Financial

  • I have a gross income of ~$17,500
  • I am paying a student loan of ~$1,700 at $50 a month
  • I am paying a credit building loan of $50 a month
  • I am living with family paying rent of $250
  • Insurance total is only about $70
  • I spend about $75 on gas a month

I will have to move out in about half a year or so. I have been able to save money, but the rate at which I save is so miniscule. I don't feel I won't be able to do anything. I do save money into a 401k (about 5%) and have been since I started this job. I also managed to create a small buffer to where I won't ever overdraw. I fear that I still won't be able to live by myself as of right now. I do have someone I will probably be able to room with, but I'm still unsure I will be financially stable.
