First time DIY shower pan install, and cannot find anyone with a good video or instructional over hotmopping.I have straight walls, a bench seat and the pan has been hotmopped ~12" above all horizontal surfaces and over the curb (done by a pro).I am planning on the following, and just want to get a sanity check:I will fur out the studs so that the hotmopping on the walls (which sticks out at least 1/4- 3/8") wont push the hardibacker out of plumb.I will put down a single piece of wire lathe on the bench seat, down the face of the bench and into the pan (with no staples) and secure it above the tar above the bench.I will float the pan with 4:1 or 5:1 and get it to the right slope at the right height for drain / tile.I will staple up tar paper on the studs and then install 1/2" hardibacker with proper screws and leave 1/4 inch of space above the cement after it cures.Redgard at least 2 coats, painted on in 2different directions.Tile.Step 2, floating a vertical surface with a wire lathe that isnt totally secured is the one thing giving me pause. Can I do anything to secure it without puncturing the pan? Does the rest of this sound right? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2fKyubN
