There were no posts on the success of using expired spray foam insulation other than a question in an archived thread here on reddit so I figured I'd mention my success.Bought some spray foam insulation which expired in 2013 and finally used it yesterday (October 2017).The Good:-Actually worked and sprayed -Able to empty the tanks completely -Insulated the our Wood Boiler ShedThe Bad:-Valve snapped right off on one of the tanks. Had to carefully drill a screw into the valve and make my own valve. Luckily I didn't drill through the tank and fill the room with insulation :) -Uneven foam expansion. Initially, it was spraying nice and I had easily coated the walls evenly. Then it started to get messy and the foam was randomly expanding into bigger pieces. Could have been my makeshift valve wasn't opening all the way and I wasn't making a good mix? -Seemed to run out pre maturely, only covered 95% of a 100sq ft shed even though the box said 200sq ft with 1 inch covering. Conclusion: -Actually worked! -Bought it for $100 off Kijiji, used to insulate a 100sq ft. wood shed about 95% -Looks messy and unprofessional due to uneven expansion via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2yKvoeU
