My uncle left me an entire bookcase full of albums, mostly rock and pop music from the 60s to 80s. I'd estimate there are over a thousand, and I like a lot of the music. I want to cover my bedroom ceiling entirely with the albums, and I'm just about ready to go through with my plan, but I wanted to post here to get some opinions on my idea of how to do it and if there may be a better way. I also wanted some opinions on the idea itself, because I'm afraid it may come off as a bit tacky. It'll take about 80 albums to cover the ceiling, so my plan was to pick out 80 that I really like for the music and the album art, take the vinyls out of the packaging and store them in folders or something similar, and then put the albums on top of plexiglass (multiple pieces of plexiglass, probably) and mount the plexiglass to the ceiling with screws. The reason for doing it this way is that I don't want to put any adhesive onto the albums and potentially mess them up. I tried looking for similar projects online, but couldn't find a lot of info, and most people display the vinyls themselves rather than the album art. This picture here http://ift.tt/2g4NIZc is kind of similar to my idea, but I think those may be posters rather than albums. Thanks in advance. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2wK20li
