I remember reading (several years ago around the same time as the STOCK Act passed) about how companies would literally employee people to hang out in the DC Capitol or in restaurants or whatever and eavesdrop...try to hear anything they could about a vote coming up or whatever and use that info for investment purposes.
It's apparently totally legal.
Am I recalling this correctly? Is it called something?
