Seems like there are 3 main ways to have a short position on equities:
1 Short the S&P 2. Buy puts 3. Keep cash and T-bills
What factors does one consider when choosing from these options? Does it not matter? It seems to me that with the VIX near all-time lows that maybe buying puts is the most attractive option if one does not have an a priori opinion about whether that is correct or not.
