I've applied for a line of credit and credit card through my bank at least a dozen times and continue to get rejected because of a workmans comp balance that is owed to the hospital for an injury i sustained in 2011. I know it doesn't seem like much but working part time at 7.35/hr, $35 is the difference between riding the bus to the grocery store or walking to the church to beg for food for the rest of the month. I'm not sure what to do, I was under the impression if I didn't have the money in my account, the transaction would get rejected instead of charging me. If anyone has some advice on how to talk to the bank about getting some sort of discount on this fee or how to get it removed I would be forever in your debt. (bad joke...) I have approximately $3 worth of loose coin i was planning on bringing in to the bank today to try to bring my balance above the negative -.27.
