Hi all,I'm having some reno done before i move into a property I've just bought - wet ufh upstairs and down, chimney breast knocked down and rebuilt, that kind of thing. Most of the work is contracted through a gc, but I took on some of the work in order to reduce costs.Specifically, I am removing all floorboards upstairs in order to expose the joists, between which the ufh and insulation will sit. Well, the boards are all up, and a lot of splinters and nails were cast between the joists, on to the top of the ceiling below. The vast majority of the joists were removed in a semi-whole state, but there is a lot if debris. My father-in-law helped with the task and now wishes to hire an industrial vacuum to clear the debris, at around £100 ($150) for the weekend. As a regular lurker here I've read a lot of you espouse the benefits of a shop vac. Based upon buy vs hire costs, I figured I may as well purchase one outright. I've just ordered this: http://ift.tt/2xWr2jW don't expect this to be as good as a true industrial unit, but will it do the job? I still have time to cancel the purchase and hire instead if it will avoid a "told you so" conversation. 90% of the debris is sawdust and nails, with the remaining 10% made up of wood splinters around a foot long (I figure that it won't manage the latter but these can easily be picked up by hand).Am I about to be a proud shop vac owner, or am I headed for disappointment?Edit: damn auto-correct on that title via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2ynoFZ3
