I've researched the topic and other than replacing the glass (I rent an apt) there isn't a reliable solution that appears to work well. Acoustic curtains come up but reviews state their effect is negligent. I'm dealing with train horns almost every night because the city refuses to make the local area a "quiet zone". I've written the leasing manager as well as city council to no avail.I don't use this particular slider which measures 80"H x 72"W. The vertical blinds are always kept closed so I fully open to semi-permanently covering it up from the inside. In searching, acoustic panels continue to come up but reviews state they aren't effective at reducing sound from outside sources. Car audio mats come up as well but not sure how I could attach those to the glass door without ruining it, and that's assuming they'll work to reduce the train noise.Any help would be greatly appreciated. My sleep and well being is suffering. Thanks in advance. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2i7uwHt
