Apologies in advance for my bad grammar, not a native English speaker and couldn't sleep due to this problem. Two months ago I had a knee accident in San Francisco and thus was advised by my orthopedic there to get a surgery. I went into the chopping board in San Francisco thinking that my University of California(UC) student health insurance would cover most of it. Yesterday I received letters from the insurance company saying my claims were denied because "a referral was not obtained from the Student Health Center". Turned out I must have a referral from one of the health insurance provider before obtaining care. The insurance representative advise me to get a retroactive coverage. What should I do now?
