All this Equifax and hurricane stuff has made me a bit more weary of my financial security, so I'm going to drop by a bank tonight and open up a safe deposit box. I'm trying to think of all the things that I want to put in their (mostly relying on what I know my Dad kept in his) and I wanted to get your input on this.
My list so far includes: 1. Car deeds.
2. Passports (my wife and I don't really use them much, maybe once every few years).
3. Certified birth certificates for us and our children
4. A bit of petty cash, probably $500 or so
5. A flash drive with our pictures and important personal memories
6. Previous year's tax return (My Dad did this, I'm not entirely sure why)
7. Life insurance policies
8. Our will
Any other suggestions?
