As far as DIY skills go, the most we've done is install backsplash. So naturally, we thought it would be a good idea to rip up the tile in the bathroom and replace it, get a new toilet, vanity etc. We've seen the HGTV shows and know that this NEVER goes well. Decided to do it anyway. So, what we are left with now is discovering rotting floor under the toilet and tiles that are attached directly to the subfloor and impossible to get off. My husband's dad is pretty handy and is going to come and help before we go any further. What my husband has assessed and what I'd like confirmed is that this job will require ripping out the old floor, replacing the subfloor and laying cement board for tiles. Can anyone offer any tips/suggestions as to how to approach this without making it the bathroom remodel that never ends? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2xbxzHj
