First of all I have absolutely no idea how credit, paying tax, etc works I'm young and have never had a job I've never had to deal with any of this. My dad has been blacklisted or something due to owing council tax after not paying it but he has now almost paid off the debt (my half sister is also involved in this but it's complicated) so long story short he can't get mortgages, own a business etc. He said his business will have to go in my name, I agreed to it but I no longer want to have anything to do with this. If I tell him I don't want it in my name anymore does he have to change it? I don't want my credit to be affected in the future when I eventually move out etc.
I am 21 and a full time student and also can't apply for a student bursary due to my dad not having me registered as living with him and I have to state where I'm living to apply for this, so basically I'm not registered as living anywhere because he doesn't want to pay council tax for me as I can't pay it myself. I want to be able to apply for some sort of benefits or student bursary as I have no money at all but can't do this because they want to know where I live. What do I do? I don't want to get into trouble with the council but I have no money, I'm at college all week, I don't 100% understand the situation all I know is it's bad and I have no control over it.
Edit: My dad has had his own business in the past but it wasn't successful, I don't know if he owes tax for this business too maybe that's why he can't open this business in his name.
