I have these lights I purchased that I wired to be able to plug into the wall outlet and hang like a chandelier. My apartment is in a 1908 building, so I've been trying to find a ceiling joist to screw in a hook, and haven't really been successful. So, now I have a bunch of holes in my ceiling, haven't found a joist, and am still really nervous about hanging a semi-heavy light in the entryway without killing myself or anyone else. Is there anything I can do to a) safely find a ceiling joist in an older building, or b) hang these lights in a much easier manner? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2xkCu8G
