I was unable to go to to the dentist for 6 years. I went for the first time recently and found I didn't have any cavities just a few stains. In high school my parents got me sealants on my teeth which saved me money and potential pain.
They cost about $30 a molar today and fill the deeper areas where food gets trapped.
I cried when they told me I didn't need any fillings. I was very grateful for having that protection.These obviously work to protect older people's teeth as well. Everyone's teeth and diet is different, they are not a cure all for everyone. I did get a lot of millage out of them.
If you are worried about your teenagers financial prospects this could be a sound investment. Especially if it is a small amount out of pocket on top of Kids Care Medicaid.
