Hello everyone,
I am currently completing my dissertation as part of my Masters at the University of Winchester. My chosen research topic is the consumer decision making process of Voluntary Simplifiers and I am attempting to conceptualise it and potentially create a model for the process, so any help would be fantastic! All responses will be kept anonymous, in the research paper they will be numbered with your username removed. Those who would prefer to private message me responses are more than welcome to! So my questions are as follows:
1) What would you consider to be the most common causes of your consumption and recent purchases?
2) Do you take any action between deciding to consume/purchase and the act of consumption (e.g. delaying the purchase, seeking alternatives like second hand goods or DIY approaches)?
3) How would you form your initial set of considered products?
4) Do you actively seek to expand upon it and add more options, if so how?
5) What sources do you rely upon to help reach a decision?
6) What factors or characteristics do you use to decide upon the options?
7) When deciding upon a purchase, what steps do you consider that you undertake?
8) How would you visualize your decision making process in steps? Does this process differ between necessary and non-necessary items?
9) How do you feel post-purchase/post-consumption? And how do these feelings go on to influence future purchases?
Thank you in advance and mods feel free to delete this post if you feel it's inappropriate or unsuitable for the sub!
