Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for the type of vacuum I should buy. We have about 2500 square feet of carpet, and 600 square feet of tile and a dog and a cat that shed a lot. Our house is plumed for a whole house vac, so that's an option to. We recently moved and the Shark vacuum we had for the last place that was mostly hardwood isn't holding up to the new house and all this carpet (duh). Budget is under $1,000. I realize whole house (central) vacuums can be quite pricey and I'm just learning about them, so if I need to up that budget price to go that direction, I might be able to. I'm considering this an investment.
