I'm looking for a good sturdy briefcase but not in leather, and years with a messenger bag has taught me that a zip top only makes for awkward removal of items (like my 15" MacBook which gets stuck with other loose items like Kindle, chargers etc).

It's called a Tumi 2 T Pass slim brief. I like that it opens out like a book. But it's super pricey for my budget. And I don't need anything that looks professional - work in a creative job.
Any ideas?
