Hello /r/DIY, I'm new the this subreddit and well reletivly new to DIY in general and I have a question. My wife and I just purchased our new home and felt the upstairs carpet needed replacing. (Was horribly stained) Well after pulling up the old carpet and underpad I see the floorboards looking like this. http://ift.tt/2xlRsvJ (the green is from the underpad)Looks also as tho something was repeatedly spilt, or even worse an animal repeatedly urinated in the same spots over and over.Do I need to do anything to these floorboards before new carpet is put in, or would it be safe to just have the carpet guy lay over the flooring in this condition. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2eXuWPw
