I have recently faced couple of issues with AMEX. More or less they have some identity concerns and asked me to send couple of docs. Not a big deal, in theory, specially because we are in 2017.

Here is the problem, I must FAX them and it is the "ONLY" way to do it with them. I'm outside of US and there is not any single Fax available near to me. However I have internet, and in PDF the info that they need. I could also easily scan whatever.

But no, I must have to send a fax. So what I did was to pay for an online tool that converts PDF into Fax and then fax it. AMEX was happy. This prove how pointless is to force you to use a fax.

There is not any security add-on by using fax, and if you believe that fax is "safer" than an email, you know little about technology which seems to be the case of most financial lawyers.

I got my voice heard on AMEX as they provided me also with a "secure email" channel, but that is not their first option and only provide it when they see there are TONS of issues to send a fax.

I have couple of friends also told me they have faced couple of issues with banks and they were asked to fax something also.

Seriously people, let's just spread the world that in 2017 fax is only an option when INTERNET is NOT an option.

Thank you.
