I live in a house with 2 other people. The owner of the house is a friend of mine. My bathroom is shared with the other roomate. About a year ago we noticed a piece of the grout cracking in the bathroom. It got worse and worse and a few days ago, after a shower, about 6 of the tiles fell off of the wall. Behind the tiles it was very black and I was concerned about mold. The owner taped up the exposed wall until today, when they could get in and ultimately demo the shower / tub area. When I got home today they had started removing the entire shower / tub area. I asked if there was mold and was told that the wood was just rot. I asked specifically if there was mold and they did not say no, just that the wood was rot. I am going to go get some DIY mold test kits tomorrow to see for myself.http://ift.tt/2fILHOY (this was what was behind the tiles - insulation. I was told the insulation was 80% pink and the rest was "dirty")http://ift.tt/2xoz05W I am concerned because recently I have been having very bad eczema breakouts and have noticed a slight cough. I have always had eczema but it has never been as bad as it currently is. I also know how the owner is and if there really is mold I am very concerned that it will not be dealt with properly. I was told that the bathroom needs to "dry out". They turned on the fan and put a floor fan in and just closed the bathroom door. There is no ventilation aside from out of the bathroom fan and then through the door which goes into the hallway which goes into my room.Based on these pictures and the situation does it appear that we have mold? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2wOxUvS
