The purpose of this post is to entertain, relate and educate :) TLDR; at the bottom.

It boils down to the kind of frugality we find necessary..I couldn't see myself saving on meal quality, so with our humble resource I try to come up with wholesome meals that stretch. His idea of cooking is eating wheat noodles with ketchup even everyday for a week! I core and cut front and back of a tomato before use, it drives him insane, he yells then eats it. I clean fat from meat because I feel like it's a waste of my calories, he insists I keep it. The more basic the food, the happier he is: a tomato, onion, avocado salad is too expensive and complex for him to approve of-dollar store bread with margarine and salt is where it's at.

Clothing...I'm a huge fan of thrifting, if I need/want something I will take a Saturday to raid a couple locations to find what I need. I am however, stern on washing: must wash after purchase, tees and underwear can be worn once, pants 3x, jeans more if aired or put in the freezer. He's an exact opposite! He buys clothes at full price, doesn't care for sales, chooses expensive retailers like Nike or free people, but he wears it into oblivion! He airs his clothing and underwear after use and reuses it until it's really bad..granted he doesn't smell but we argue. Towels are used till stained gray.

Disposable items like q-tips or paper towel ought to be reused if not too dirty, I throw them away after use no matter how soiled it is.

I'm happy to discuss or answer questions. I hoped you enjoyed my story

TL;DR: best friend and I argue over our extremely different ways to eat, dress and clean frugally.
