I'm trying to avoid using dryers as much as possible, do you think this clothing rack would actually be more useful than the traditional one?

I'm referring to this design which I've never actually seen before until I started googling.

The traditional one I'm referring to is this one.

The reason I'm considering the "alternative" one is because I have a fairly small dorm room and so it would be great to be able to put it away easily, but I'm not sure how great it would be for drying t-shirts.

Does anyone have experience using this?
