It was suggested I make a separate post after commenting about this in a different thread.

This will be an app that can take in recipes (imported from online, still figuring out how to get recipe formatting to work best)
-
You will be able to input what items you already have in your pantry, with the app trying to detect what you already have (if you bought a jar of pickles for a recipe that called for 1/2 a jar of pickles, it's gonna suggest that you already have a 1/2 jar of pickles)
-
It will compile a grocery cart for you (open to suggestions on what format this should be)
I'm having trouble with a couple key areas, like unit conversions for recipes. for example if you want to buy a gallon of milk and add that to your list manually, and you have a recipe for cake that calls for 1 cup of milk, it's gonna thing you need 1 gallon and 1 cup of milk, when in reality you probably still only need 1 gallon.
So yeah, let me know what you want to see! It's going to be Android and it's going to be free, written mostly in Python on the back end. You can expect it to be released in about a year or so.
Let me know what you think!
