A few years ago I got charged with felony aggravated assault in the US and now I'm on probation for that until I'm 28 when I can get it reduced to non-felony assault. I went to college for 2 years but dropped out due to this + family issues and now I feel pretty stuck.

I've never had a real career-level job, though I've had various other jobs, and it seems like most people won't hire me/jobs aren't available to me due to my charges. I turn 24 next april and it seems life is getting to the point of where I'll be a loser the rest of my life because I'm getting too old.

I feel pretty hopeless for my situation and I'm not sure what to do from here. I figure a few options are:

Try to get a warehouse job and work my way up, or something of the sort

Apply to a union and hopefully get accepted and work that field for the rest of my life

Go back to school or take online courses which is an option but I'd have to go into loan debt for sure and I'm not sure if it's worth it but I'm open to opinions

Start my own business or self-teach myself a skill like programming

Anyways, I'm up for any ideas of how to dig myself out of this hole. Ideally I'd just wait until I get my charges reduced but obviously 28 is a point where I feel like it'd be so late I'd be out of the game for sure.

Thanks
