I have a large chest and large shoulders, so I need an extremely large coat. Usually 3xl or 4xl sizes, but I've worn 2xl before.
I have a good winter coat, but I do not have a good fall coat/windbreaker that is also waterproof with a hood. I used to, but it got lost a while ago (no idea where, I had that coat for a decade).
This seems like an obvious solution, go to a thrift store. The problem is thrift stores usually do not carry my size. Discount stores usually do not carry my size new either. Buying online isn't an option because I may need a 2x, 3x or 4x depending on the maker.
So what are my other options? I can check big and tall shops, but what time of year is best to buy a coat like this on sale? Is it spring, winter, etc to get them on clearance?
Big and tall shops carry what I need, but they tend to charge $100 while a regular store may only want $20 for the same coat in a smaller size.
I could try this.
