I'm not sure this is the right place for this question but I figure someone can help me out. I have a small consulting company with an Employer ID with the IRS that I've been working under for 3 years. I have done all the work alone until this year and taxes have been straight forward. I now have a project this year that I need to hire another professional for. We agreed on terms and I'll need to send him a 1099 next year but I have no idea how this is done. I've been the recipient of 1099s but never a provider, who actually sends those out? What do I need to do? Thanks in advance!
