I currently have a 15 amp circuit that has my other exterior lights and the outlet that my garage door opener is plugged into. I want to add an additional exterior light, but we don't want it on a switch - it has a photocell that will control the on and off function. With that being the case, can I tie the new light directly in at the outlet (in the garage ceiling) where my garage door opener is plugged in? When looking at the outlet, it's installed with the white wire on one side, black on the other, and ground at the bottom. So the outlet has 1 free screw on each side. Is it as simple as running the 14-2 wire from my new fixture to that outlet? If so, how exactly do I hook it up (which wires where)? Or is this not possible/up to code? I'm being overly cautious since I haven't added an entirely new fixture before.Thank you! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2yBS3HU
