I just swapped my old programmable thermostat to an Ecobee smart thermostat. After some initial issues, (like the idiots that wired my thermostat cutting the extra blue/brown wire where you didn't know you had the C wire until you saw them in the furnace) I have both of my thermostats wired (upstairs/downstairs). I did have to make the brown wire my Common wire in my upstairs furnace because the blue is so short and there is no slack in the wiring. I already had to widen my wiring hole substantially to get what I did.My downstairs works fine. My upstairs will not turn on. I went and rechecked my wires, they are tight and attached. It is wired correctly I believe. I don't really understand the Y1/Y2, but everything is in the "1" position. I've tried the red wire in RC and RH. this is the thermostat wiring setupI have a cheap (harbor freight) multi-meter. I don't really know how to use it, so after some youtube and google and instructables, I used it to test if I was getting any power. The setting in the picture is the setting I used, so please let me know if that was wrong. First I tried at my thermostat, nothing. So then I went to the furnace and tried there, nothing.Full disclosure, as I sat here typing this I cannot recall if I unplugged the furnace before testing the wires...It is habit to unplug it and may have done it before testing. So I will test again this evening unless you tell me that I should still have had a reading.I had to replace the fuse on my downstairs furnace, so I took a fuse with me thinking maybe I popped it on the upstairs one. Turns out, it didn't have one. No clue why, or when that happened. I have a service plan with my local HVAC company and they have been out more than three times since March 2016 (when we bought the house). So I put a 3amp fuse in its place. Same fuse as in the other, larger, furnace.I took my upstairs unit and plugged it into my downstairs and it powered on. So I know the thermostat isn't bad.I think that is everything. All I really find on google is that either it is wired wrong or to check the AC. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2vS2DwC
