I’m hoping to lay some laminate floor in my garage which I will be using as an art studio/workshop. The concrete is fairly uneven quite consistently with high spots and low spots it is also slightly slanting. The edges are a bit of a mess as you will see in the photos, they’re very irregular with a lot of stones sticking up and others crumbling off leaving gaps. I seem to have searched the internet high and low but can’t quite decide what’s best for my situation. I should also mention I’m a broke ass student so I’m planning on doing it all myself in the cheapest way possible. Self levelling compound or using an angle grinder on my hands and knees is where I’m at. The problem with the self levelling compound is that I feel I will need a hell of a lot and even then because the room is slanted it may still mostly go to one end. I have already bought some which covers 6m2 at 3mm and says it goes up to 40mm. (I could take this back for a refund). Which would surely cover the problems but is pricey especially if I will need more. I’m up to about £100, £150 with the equipment but may need to buy another 4 bags bumping it up to £250. I do not have an angle grinder so would need to purchase one, whether a relatively cheap 4 1/2 inch would do the job I do not know. I have read that I will need a diamond cup wheel for concrete but I do not see how this will be able to get into corners and around the edges where it really needs flattening the most. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for such a long post. New to reddit! Link to photos --->  http://ift.tt/2w8QSOz via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2jNVTKA
