Hello, everyone! If this isn't the correct sub, please point me in the right direction. Thanks! I'm a huge fan of DiY projects, although I'll admit my tool collection is barely starting to grow past the basic tool sets. Here's some info that might be helpful:House: 1-story brick house built in 2010Roof: ShingleLocation: South Texas (USA)Time of Ownership: <1 monthWe just purchased our home three weeks ago and yesterday was the first time it actually rained. The previous times were light showers/sprinkles. I was going to jump in the shower when I noticed a dark spot towards the bottom. When I took a knee, I noticed it was liquid. No one had showered in the past 10 hours before this, so it couldn't have been lingering water. The other side of the wall where this spot of water is, is the outside of the house. I did notice various vertical holes all around the outside of the house towards the bottom, but after some research these seem to be "weeping holes" and are meant to be there. There are no other visible holes on the outside wall other than these. I touched the liquid and it's definitely water. It had this funky smell to it, similar to water found inside a cooler that was left outside 3 days too many (I hope that makes sense).I hadn't noticed this until the medium rainfall we had, so this leads me to assume that the water is probably coming from the outside. I doubt it's bleeding through the weeping hole since the weeping hole is basically aligned horizontally to this spot, but I'm not ruling it out completely. There are no signs of leakage above the spot shown in the picture or the ceiling directly above it. Should I simply patch this up or will that only mask a possibly greater issue? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2xoJSAP
