Sprouts will usually offer berries at half the cost of a store like safeway, giant, HEB, kroger, lucky, etc. So I decided to figure out why. And the reason is they sell close to expiration, and bruised berries (not driscolls). This means they are often moldy. And to make things worse..
Their policy on berries is to remove the moldy ones, and mix the remainder with other containers, so they dont have to throw them away. Which may be fine with some consumers, but i'd rather not.
